General Scope of the Conference
The NORCHIP conference is the main microelectronics event of the Nordic countries. The annual IEEE CAS sponsored conference covers all areas of microelectronics, spanning from large digital systems to simple analog circuits. The wide scope of NORCHIP is intentional promoting cross-field collaboration. NORCHIP is a well established conference with representation from both academia and industry. Papers of the highest scientific and technical quality are presented together with selected invited speakers and pre-conference tutorial sessions.

Technical programme
The twenty-sixth NORCHIP conference will take place on 17-18 November 2008. The Management Committee invites people from academia and industry in all Europe to contribute papers. Contributions for the 2008 conference in Tallinn should be in the following areas:
  • Design and analysis of signal processing algorithms and architecture
  • Performance   analysis, including measurement, modelling, and simulation of signal processing systems
  • Circuit design issues: Analogue designs, mixed analogue/digital designs, high frequency analogue and digital designs, digital designs, system integration, design for testability and test
  • System design issues: CAE methods, design tools, VLSI design methodology, neural networks
  • Signal processing/signal processing systems: New applications and realisation techniques (telecom video, speech, instrumentation)
  • High speed low power circuits, hardware/software codesign, ASIC in information technology, demanding packaging and interconnection systems
  • Protocol processors
  • Sensor interface circuits
  • Nanoelectronics
  • Network on Chip
Papers may be selected for either lecture or poster presentation. Equal quality measures will be applied to posters and lectures. All accepted papers will be published in the conference CDROM proceedings.
Papers will be selected on the basis of a full length paper (4 A4 pages, additional 2 pages can be acquired for 100 EUR) by the Management Committee based on a peer review made by the Technical Programme Committee. Papers should be submitted before 20 August 2008.

Submission of Contributions
The published proceedings will be printed from camera ready pdf files supplied by authors. The paper must follow the IEEE standard as described in the “submission of contributions” section at www.norchip.org.
Submitted papers must not exceed four (six) A4 pages with all illustrations and references included. Only black and white photographs can be accepted. Papers should be submitted as a pdf file before 20 August 2008 (see instructions on www.norchip.org).
Authors will be notified in September 2008. Papers selected for presentation will be presented in CD-ROM conference proceedings which will be distributed upon registration. Proceedings and all presentations will be in English.
